Anna "Mea" McMahon, LPC

I am a License Professional Counselor (LPC).  I am working on my Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor credential currently, so I may have the honor of helping mentor the next generation of counselors.  My bachelor and master's degrees were both earned at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

In total both licensed and unlicensed experience, I have worked for 15 years in mental health.  I work with children (3-12), adolescents (ages 13-18) and adults of all ages.  I provide individual counseling.  When I work with children and adolescents, I, also, provide family counseling. I take an eclectic approach theoretically when it comes to serving my clients in counseling.  This means I am comfortable with using tools from a variety of theoretical approaches.  I am experienced in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution Focused therapy, Gestalt techniques, Play Therapy techniques, and Trust Based Relationship Intervention.

Mental health issues that I am most experienced are mood disorders (depression, anxiety, PTSD), behavioral disorders (ADHD and ODD), and working with first responders (police, fire fighters, medical and mental health workers).  I have, also, worked with survivors of trauma (sexual, physical, domestic violence, and those rescued from human trafficking).
