I am a licensed Master Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I’m currently serving as a Program Director for Communities of Greater Tarrant County where I have worked since February of 2014.

I am currently working towards my LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) under the supervision of Kaitlin Tollison, LCSW-S.

Counseling is something everyone can benefit from but few make the brave choice to do something different. We can’t do the same thing and expect different results. You are here reading this bio so you are taking the first steps, yay!

Life is hard! No one is exempt from struggles, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and life wasn’t meant to be experienced alone. I view the therapeutic relationship as a safe space to explore events, behaviors, and relationships to better understand ourselves and the role we play or don’t play in our circumstances. My approach is person centered tailored to each client.

I have a passion for helping others find what they already have inside themselves to live their most authentic life.

Shannon La Mar, LMSW-S
